The dates
Sentences without a label are documented facts; the others are marked "probable" or "uncertain".
The essential dates of the portal, from the birth of the rock, about 30 million years ago, to the exploration permit of 2026. Each row has its source, with the page. A date is the one the source maintains: for the oldest centuries it is often a hypothesis. The dates on which the sources do not agree are gathered at the end.
